Learning to Dive
OPEN WATER DIVER COURSE
Get your scuba diving certification with the PADI Open Water Diver course – the world’s most popular and widely recognized scuba course. Millions of people have learned to scuba dive and gone on to discover the wonders of the aquatic world through this course.
To enroll in a PADI Open Water Diver course or Junior Open Water Diver course at Adventures in Scuba:
What will you learn? The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:
Knowledge Development helps you to understand basic principles of scuba diving. Knowledge Development can be completed either online through independent study or in a group setting. Confined Water Dives allow you learn and practice basic scuba skills. Confined water dives take place at Adventures in Scuba in our on-site, 14′ deep dive pool, designed specifically for scuba diving.
Open Water Dives then test your skills and allow you to start your underwater adventures! Come discover the beauty and fascination of the underwater world!
How do you get started? It’s easy…you just have to decide how you would like to learn…e-Learning or Traditional…
PADI Open Water Diver e-Learning teaches you information you need to dive safely and allows you to complete your knowledge development at your own pace through an interactive computer-based program. The confined water dives will then be completed in a group setting.
You can also start learning with PADI’s home-study materials – Open Water Diver Manual and Open Water Diver Video (a book and DVD package) and then complete the knowledge development in a group setting along with the confined water dives.
Stop by or call Adventures in Scuba to enrol in the course, get your preferred materials and start learning today! Then we will schedule your classroom and pool time. Weekends or Weeknights? 1 week or 2 weeks? You decide
What scuba gear will you use?
In the PADI Open Water Diver course, you learn to use basic scuba gear, including a mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, buoyancy control device, weights, a tank AND a dive computer. The equipment you wear varies depending upon whether you’re diving in tropical, temperate or cold water. The retail staff at Adventures in Scuba can teach you all about the gear you will use during this course and you can get personal advice about everything you will need or want to own from your PADI Instructor.
So…What’s the Next Step?
Breathing underwater for the first time is something you’ll never forget, so don’t wait!
If you are still not 100% sure that scuba diving is the sport for you then try a Discover Scuba Diving experience program first.
